Career Synopsis: My TV career started in Grand Junction, CO then it was Eau Claire, WI then the other Greenville in NC..after that it Springfield, MO then most recently Decatur, IL. My TV career has spanned 27 years with 30 years including 3 years as a radio DJ at an AOR FM station.
On the weekends, I love to strike out and see the lay of the land…go out to dinner…catch a movie…read a book..watch some sports..especially if it’s the NY Mets or NY Islanders.
My favorite movie is Jaws. This is the first PG movie I was allowed to see without my parents and I was 12 years old. This movie really shook me because I was originally from Amityville.. the fictitious one was Amity and I went to the ocean all the time. I took a break for a while after Jaws.
My favorite kind of music is Rock n’ Roll..anytime from the ‘50s to the ’90s. My favs are Buddy Holly..Elvis Presley and The Beatles.
My favorite foods are Cheeseburgers and Pizza.
Driving a stick shift
Can do some impressions..like Ronald Reagan...President Bush Senior and Jimmy Stewart
I like to bird watch..always looking for the cardinals.
I’m an aspiring beekeeper..hopefully soon.
And of course I keep an eye on the weather..i know big shock.
I had 2 golden retrievers…they’re in doggie heaven. Hugo and Charley… yes named after hurricanes.
I have a beautiful wife, Susan, who is originally from Elizabeth City, NC. She’s looking forward to warmer winters again.
I’m looking forward to meeting and volunteering for groups in the Upstate. In the past I volunteered for Convoy of Hope, United Way, and The American Red Cross.
Most Memorable Story
A very sad one unfortunately. A young girl was abducted and then murdered shortly thereafter. She was playing with friends in front of her house when she was grabbed off the street in broad daylight. She was killed a short time later. I usually did fluffy stories or environmental pieces but on this day I knew I was doing a story related to this tragedy. I did a story on handguns and taking the law into your own hands if you were in a position to stop an abduction.
