Fred Kalil joined CBS46 News as a sports anchor in March 2015.
Kalil comes to CBS46 from WXIA where he's been for the last 22 years. While there he received 12 Southeastern Regional Emmy Awards and six of them were for Best Sportscaster. He also was awarded seven Gabby Awards and two Associated Press (AP) Sportscaster of the Year awards.
Prior to coming to Atlanta, he was the Sports Director at WISH-TV in Indianapolis. Kalil has also held Sports Reporting positions in Phoenix and Cincinnati and got his start in Huntington, WV.
Kalil is a graduate of Indiana University where he was a walk-on football player under Lee Corso.
