Myra Ruiz is a senior reporter for FOX Carolina News. She joined the FOX Carolina team in February 2022.
She is a familiar face for many in the Carolinas, having previously worked as a reporter in Greenville and an anchor at WACH in Columbia. Myra originally hails from Des Moines, IA and is a graduate of the University of Iowa. She regularly volunteers through the National Charity League.
What was the most memorable story you’ve covered? Being assigned to follow up on the supposed death of a Greenville County woman named Frances Patterson – but mostly known to many as “Hubba Hubba” – only to discover she was alive and well.

My favorite movie is: a tie between psychological thrillers and comedy
My favorite kind of music is: the whole gamut, depending on my mood (except country)
My favorite food is: ice cream
Hidden talents? I am really good at communicating with cats
