(Meredith) -- An 18-month-old boy who was the center of an AMBER Alert in Dallas is dead, his family told WFAA.

Cedric Jackson was in the custody of his aunt Crystal Jackson when she reported him missing early Wednesday morning. Jackson told WFAA Thursday morning that Cedric is "dead. He's gone."

"We don't know 100 percent what happened, but we all loved that baby," Jackson told WFAA. "He was just the sweetest baby."

Jackson told police she put Cedric to bed after 11 p.m. Tuesday night and discovered him missing around 6 a.m. the following morning.

Another child who lives at the residence told police she saw a man take Cedric from his bed. She described the suspect as looking like a relative; however, police said they located that relative, but he did not have Cedric and is currently in jail on unrelated warrants.

An AMBER Alert for Cedric was sent out around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
