ANDERSON CO., S.C. (FOX CAROLINA) The Anderson County Sheriff's Office said a traffic stop on I-85 has led to an investigation by a federal agency.

Monday night, deputies said they initiated a traffic stop on I-85 near mile marker 11 in Anderson County.

After making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, deputies said they called in a federal agency.

FOX Carolina spoke with a spokesperson from ICE who said their Homeland Security Investigations received a call from local law enforcement regarding possible human smuggling activity.

ICE said three passengers were being transported in a vehicle from Texas to Virginia.

We're told that the driver and two individuals were transported to a bus station to continue their trip to Virginia.

ICE says one individual was arrested for illegal re-entry, and that person is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning in federal court.
