Pickens Co Emergency Management responding to the scene

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) -- A building has collapsed along Water lake Drive in the Sunset Community of Pickens County, killing two workers, officials confirmed.

Kandy Kelly, the Pickens County Coroner, confirmed that her office has been called to the scene, and two people are confirmed dead. She later identified them as 22-year-old Domingo Diego Nicolas and 42-year-old Sabino Juarez Lopez. Both men were from Greenville.

According to Kelly, both men were pronounced dead on the scene and will undergo autopsy on Friday. She says they were putting up walls for a new home and were found under the walls when they fell on top of them.

Collapsed house scene

Two other individuals have been rushed to the hospital, officials say.

Pickens Co. Emergency Management officials say the house was under construction when a heavy thunderstorm rolled through.

The National Weather Service confirmed the damage from the strong winds, which caused the unstable structure to collapse.

All four individuals were construction workers, working on the home, officials say.

PCSO and OSHA are investigating.

Are the realtors going to inform the buyers of property that someone died building the home? I know there are laws about that.
