LANDRUM, SC (FOX Carolina) – A medical doctor from Landrum was arrested after being accused of willingly, knowingly, and unlawfully signing blank prescriptions.
According to the arrest warrant, filed by DHEC, Wanda Starling signed the blank prescriptions at an address on Blackstock Road between October 8 and October 30, 2018.
The warrant states those blank prescriptions were then used to unlawfully procure oxycodone.
According to Spartanburg County Detention Center records, Starling was booking into jail on Sunday morning and released that afternoon.
According to the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Starling is a licensed medical doctor in the state.
FOX Carolina reached out to Starling's attorneys on Monday, and they did not wish to comment at the time.
