(Meredith) -- A Mississippi mother discovered horrifying news Thursday; her 18-month-old son was allegedly attacked at daycare.
Latoye Sutter received a text stating her son Dakota has been scratched in the face by another toddler, according to WLOX.
"I asked her to send me some photos. It took a minute to send them back, but when I saw the photos I left immediately," Sutter told WLOX, referring to a text from a daycare owner.
The daycare owner operates her business out of her home in Pasagoula, Mississippi.
WLOX reports the owner told Sutter she stepped away for a moment and when she came back Sutter's son was standing, covered in blood.
Sutter said the child who attacked her son was previously put out of another daycare for similar abusive behavior.
A spokesperson for the Department of Health says the facility is not licensed and has not applied for license.
Department of Human Services and the Mississippi State Department of Health are working with police to investigate this incident.
No charges have been filed at this time.
