Augusta Street has reopened and power has been restored after vehicle crash caused a large power outage in Greenville on Tuesday.

Officials said the collision occurred near Faris Road. Firefighters with the Greenville Fire Department said two people were in a truck which hit a power pole.

Duke Energy reported an outage in the area affecting more than 1,100 customers.

Firefighters said no one was transported to the hospital in the collision. They stressed the importance of staying in the vehicle if you ever crash into a power pole.

Augusta Street reopened just after 5 a.m. Wednesday.
