A year after BI-LO's parent company introduced the Plenti program, Southeastern Grocers said it is making another change.

BI-LO's Fuelperks! program ended in March 2016 and shoppers were able to enroll in the new Plenti card shortly thereafter. Multiple partners were included for earning Plenti points, including AT&T, Macy’s, Chili’s, Rite Aid, Expedia, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Hulu.

However, a spokesperson for Southeastern Grocers said based on customer feedback, the Plenti program was not meeting customers' needs.

A new loyalty program, SE Grocers Rewards, will launch this summer. The company said the new program will allow customers to redeem points for groceries and fuel at participating Shell stations.

Shoppers can continue to earn Plenti points through July 10, 2018. The value of unredeemed points will be issued to the new SE Grocers program when it opens, the company said.

"We have listened loudly to our customers about all of the things they value with our current rewards program and how we can make our next loyalty program even better,' said CEO Anthony Hucker. “We will take every step to ensure this transition is clear, smooth and creates quality value and savings for our customers and associates where it matters most."
