Jail records show a suspect's charges have been upgraded after the Anderson County Coroner's Office said a man died days after being shot on Brookhaven Court.

Deputies said they responded to a reported shooting on Tuesday and they arrived to find a man with gunshot injuries unconscious in the hallway.

The coroner said the victim was pronounced dead on Friday. The victim was identified as 29-year-old Detonio Jamarvis Ware.

According to the coroner's office, Ware died of a gunshot wound. His manner of death was classified as a homicide, per the coroner.

Deputies identified George Leon Bell, 40, of Anderson as the suspect in the shooting.

Deputies said Bell was charged with attempted murder and was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center Thursday afternoon.

On Monday, records accessible via the Anderson County Detention Center website showed Bell had also been charged with murder and is being held on no bond until his next court date.
