Per a press release from the TCMU, the grand opening of the museum is set for May 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 130 Magnolia Street. There will be museum tours, food trucks, games, programming, giveaways and community guests."With the expansion to a Spartanburg location, TCMU is truly focused on serving additional Upstate communities! Creating a Spartanburg venue will give Spartanburg families easier access and allow more regular participation in programs that prepare children for academic success. Based on data, nearly 55% of Spartanburg children ages 3-4 are currently not enrolled in preschool resulting in an enormous deficit in kindergarten readiness. Our goal is to aid Spartanburg families with school readiness as defined by the Spartanburg Community Indicators Project and the Spartanburg Academic Movement," per the TCMU website. The museum is also hiring for a part-time program guide.
