Upstate native Claude Schmid has announced his candidacy for the U.S. House 4th Congressional District.
Schmid is a retired Army Colonel who served for 31 years. He held seven command positions and served as the Chief of the Army's Wounded Warrior Flight Program.
He is campaigning for low taxes and strong environmental policies. Schmid also supports merit-based immigration and is a strong proponent of Second Amendment rights.
Schmid has two sons. He is currently a partner in his family's business.
