Clinton Public Safety dissolves, split into separate police, fire departments

FOX Carolina/August 31, 2016

Clinton Public Safety is officially splitting into two separate departments for law enforcement and fire response.

In a specially-called meeting Wednesday morning, the Clinton City Council voted to dissolve the public safety department in favor of the two-department setup.

In lieu of the unified department, the town will now see a Clinton police department and a Clinton fire department operating independently of each other.

As of writing, current director Robin Morse will remain as the leader of the new police department.
