GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina)- Colonial Pipeline said on Thursday that the pipeline system restart is going well and gas stations should expect product delivery.

On Thursday, the company updated at 9 a.m. saying it has made substantial progress in safely restarting the the pipeline system. Colonial said by mid-day Thursday, it projects that each market served will be receiving product from their system. Blue lines will be operational later on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Colonial Pipeline announced that it initiated a restart of its gas pipeline around 5 p.m. The company said that it would still take several days for the delivery of the product supply to return to normal. Colonial noted that some areas may continue to experience service interruptions during this restart period. 

Colonial said that it will move as much gas as possible until markets can return to normal, but stressed that its main focus is doing so safely.

Colonial Pipeline said that it will conduct a series pipeline safety assessments to ensure that the company is in compliance with federal safety requirements.
