In the wake of the tragic death of a 2-year-old boy in June, the Laurens community came together to honor him and raise funds for his foundation.

Brantley Smith's life was cut short when police say he was molested and killed. His mother and her boyfriend have since been arrested and face a handful of charges surrounding his death, including homicide by child abuse.

In his honor, Brantley's family began the "Brantley's Hope" foundation, which aims to raise awareness about domestic violence and help stop abuse within families.

As part of a fundraiser for the foundation, a rally was held on Saturday at Laurens County Park, welcoming citizens, businesses, and law enforcement agencies to help honor Brantley's memory.

The rally featured family activities and resources for families to seek help if they are facing domestic violence within their homes.
