Marietta crash

MARIETTA, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County coroner confirmed one man has died after a crash on US 276 near Marietta Thursday afternoon.

According to troopers the crash happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. near Pearl Avenue.

Troopers reported an entrapment was involved in the collision.

Early Friday morning, the Greenville County coroner identified the man who died as 48-year-old Walter Landon of Cleveland, SC. The coroner reports that the cause of death was blunt force trauma and has ruled the collision as an accident.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the vehicle Landon was driving was traveling east on Geer Highway when he crossed the center line, striking another vehicle that was traveling West. 

According to highway patrol, Landon was trapped in his vehicle after the accident. Both the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were injured in the crash and transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital. 

Their condition at this time remains unknown.
