Greenville County deputies said a man has been charged with murder has after a deadly stabbing occurred late on Labor Day.

Deputy Sean Zukowsky said the sheriff's office was called out to Three Oak Circle around 11:40 p.m. Monday.

When they got there deputies said they found a 25-year-old man who was stabbed in the abdomen. Deputies tried to render medical aid, but were unsuccessful.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office and the coroner were both on scene investigating.

The coroner later identified the victim as Marco Antonio Velasquez Castillo. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Castillo's neighbor said their street is typically quiet and never expected something like this to happen there.

"We never have any problems," Castillo's neighbor Ana Herrera said, "We never have any killings or anything so it's really shocking."

Zukowsky announced just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday that deputies had made an arrest.

Ivan Sosa Marquez was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Marquez was arrested in Spartanburg County and is being transferred to the Greenville County Detention Center, Zukowsky said.

On September 4, Marquez appeared in bond court in Greenville County.

His charges include murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, malicious damage, and petty larceny.
