Deputies: 2 arrested after throwing bags of marijuana from vehicle during chase in Anderson Co.

Two suspects are behind bars after deputies say they threw marijuana and cash out of their car during a chase in Anderson County.

During the chase, deputies said the passenger in the vehicle threw two large white trash bags out of the window. One the chase ended in the back yard of a home in Iva, they said the passenger tried to flee on foot into the woods.

Deputies were able to detain both the driver and passenger.

In the trash bags, deputies say they recovered a large quantity of green plant substance consistent with the appearance and odor of marijuana.

They also said they recovered a large amount of currency from the glove box. The passenger was also found to be in possession of more US currency.

The driver was identified as Charles Victor Crowe, 28 of Anderson, and the passenger was identified as Wesley Wyatt Vaught.
