The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said a woman is facing charges after a toddler was found in a stranger's yard on Tuesday.

According to the incident report, a resident on Thurgood Marshall Road returned home to find a 2-year-old playing outside her house. She said she didn't recognize or know where the toddler came from.

After an investigation, deputies said they learned the toddler was being watched by 21-year-old babysitter Leslie Alley at another home on the street.

Deputies said a search of the home revealed "very filthy and unclean" conditions. Deputies said the refrigerator and freezer were filled with dead bugs, a broken toilet was full of human waste and very little food was available.

In addition to the toddler, deputies said Alley's two children were also in her care. The toddler was reunited with her mother and the other two children were placed in protective custody.

Alley is charged with three counts of child neglect.
