Deputies said a chase that began in Anderson County Sunday night ended when the suspect crashed at an Easley apartment complex Sunday night.

The pursuit started at Clemson Blvd. and Interstate Blvd. in Anderson just after 9 p.m. while deputies were investigating a a car break-in at the Star Lite movie theater.

Deputies said callers reported that two men broke a window, out of a truck, entered the vehicle, and then fled in a sedan.

Deputies said they saw a dark silver Honda approach the intersection as they were responding. The Kia turned onto US 76 and deputies said they initiated a traffic stop. Instead of stopping, the driver of the KIA sped off, passing vehicles between lanes and on the grass shoulder of the road, deputies said.

The chase continued into Pickens County and into Easley, where deputies said the KIA swerved into the Dodge's gas station parking lot at point and then continued to the Auston Woods Apartments, where deputies said the vehicle crashed in the back of the complex.

Two men ran from the car after it crashed.

Deputies were able to catch the driver but the passenger eluded capture.

K-9s were sent in to search for the passenger but the search was unsuccessful.

Deputies identified the driver as Andre Glover, 26, of Charlotte.

Glover was charged with reckless driving and failure to stop for blue light.
