Deputies: Middle schooler in custody after threat texted to Henderson Co. student

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office said a student is in custody after a threatening text was reported on Tuesday.

Deputies said the text was sent from an unknown number. The student who received the threat reported it to a school resource officer.

As a precaution, Apple Valley Middle School and North Henderson High School were placed on lockdown for approximately 20 minutes.

Deputies said the suspect was identified as an Apple Valley middle schooler, who was taken into custody.

School has resumed normal operations.
