Pickens County deputies have accused a man of trying to kill his girlfriend after the woman was shot on June 9.

Deputies said they were called to a camper on Bee Tree Court in Liberty around 8:15 p.m.

They found a 43-year-old woman who had been shot in both legs. A .22 caliber revolver was also found at the scene.

Deputies said witnessed told them that the victim had been arguing with her boyfriend, Robert Bragg Jr., for a number of hours before the shooting. The argument then turned violent and deputies said Bragg shot the victim while she sat on the couch inside the camper.

Bragg was not on scene when deputies arrived

Deputies said they located Bragg Sunday night and took him into custody. He was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
