A suspect wanted after a manhunt on Friday has been taken into custody.

Deputies said 38-year-old Shaun David Bell evaded apprehension after a pursuit Friday afternoon, but was taken into custody after a citizen tip led them to find him on Browning Road in Piedmont.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies attempted a traffic stop on Friday when it was discovered Bell was driving a stolen black Dodge Ram.

Deputies said a pursuit began and ended in the area of Campbell Road and Pine Circle in Pelzer, where Bell fled the scene on foot.

The sheriff's office said deputies searched the area where he was last seen for several hours using K-9 units and a helicopter, but were unable to locate him at that time.

According to deputies, Bell has an active warrant for failure to register as a sex offender in Anderson County and several other warrants out of Spartanburg County as well.

Additional charges against Bell are pending.
