The coroner said a man has died after leading Anderson County deputies on a chase Thursday that ended in a crash in Pickens County.

Anderson County deputies said the chase began on Three and Twenty Road around 1 p.m. when a deputy saw a black vehicle speeding down the wrong side of the road.

The deputy tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver didn't stop.

The chase continued down several back roads and deputies said the suspect ran at least one other driver off the road.

When the suspect tried to cross SC 135 in Liberty, the suspect's vehicle was struck by a Dodge Ram and crashed down an embankment.

The collision occurred around 1:15 p.m. near Flat Rock Road. Troopers confirmed the driver of a Chrysler was struck by the driver of a Dodge pickup truck.

The suspect was injured and entrapped in the vehicle before being taken to the Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he passed away.

The coroner identified the deceased as 49-year-old Kenneth David Reynolds of Easley. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday morning.

The crash remains under investigation by SC Highway Patrol.
