Drivers in the Upstate should expect detours on I-85 North starting Monday night.
Per Greenville officials, a "detour is needed in order to continue with the demolition of some of the old structures associated with the I-85/385 Gateway Project."
I-85 N will be detoured at Exit 51 and drivers will be directed to take Exit 51-B to 385 South. From there, drivers will be directed to Woodruff Road where they will make a left and get back on to 385 North. This will take them back to 85 North toward Spartanburg.
The detour is expected to take place at 10 p.m. and will be removed by 5 a.m. the following morning.
