Officials with the 85-385 Gateway Project say drivers should play close attention traveling along I-385 S near Woodruff Road Monday morning.

Motorists will be re-directed along a new alignment as they continue towards Simpsonville, and once over the Garlington Road bridges, will be directed to stay right and travel onto one of the new alignments for the Gateway Project.

Gateway Project officials said that as drivers continue south, they'll gradually shift back to the original alignment by the time they get to the Butler Road exit.

Motorists are asked to pay close attention to new signage and traffic control devices that will assist them through this area due to a slight change in its current pattern. Also starting on Monday, drivers should expect detours on I-85 N as the demolition of some of the old structures associated with the I-85/385 Gateway Project continues.

I-85 Northbound will be detoured at the Exit 51 ramp and directed to Exit 51-B to 385 SB. From there drivers will be directed to Woodruff Road. where they will make a left and get back on to 385 NB. This will take them back to 85 NB towards Spartanburg.

This detour will begin around 10 p.m. on Monday and will be removed by 5 a.m. the following morning.

"Drivers are asked to travel with care through the Interchange during these times. Please observe all signage and devices."
