On Thursday morning Chesnee High School students will learn a history lesson like never before.

Ella Mae Colbert, at 101-years-old, is presenting her living history to students that are studying the same topics from their history books.

Mrs. Colbert is a former Spartanburg School District Two teacher, and the day before her 102nd birthday, she still enjoys sharing with students.

"This is a really special event. It is also a part of instruction because the students will definitely gain valuable information," said KS teacher Sylvia Landrum.

Landrum went on to say that having Mrs. Colbert speak is like bringing history to life.

"This is a rare occasion, said Landrum, Our students have prepared questions about historical events that have occurred during Mrs. Colbert's long life and they are excited to hear the reminisce about her past and get her perspective on the world today."

A local company has donated a limousine service to transport Mrs. Colbert from her home to CHS, she should arrive around 9:45 a.m.
