GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina)- The Greenville County Coroner's Office confirmed that a 4-year-old died on Saturday afternoon from an accidental gunshot. 

The Coroner's Office said the child was transported to the hospital after the incident but sadly passed away Saturday afternoon.

Greenville County deputies said they responded to the scene on Saturday. According to dispatch, the call came in at around 11:34 Saturday morning. 

On Monday, the coroner identified the child as Kingston Barksdale.

Barksdale's cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound of the thorax, according to a release from the coroner. 

The manner of death was determined to be accidental, the coroner says. 

The incident happened near White Horse Road, according to deputies.

GCSO says there is no threat to the community.
