People living in Lavonia used to drive 20 or more miles to get a fix when they craved Chick-Fil-A. That all changed Thursday when the city’s first Chick-Fil-A opened.
The new restaurant brought 100 new jobs, the chance for 100 adults to win free Chick-fil-A meals for a year, and the opportunity for the community to donate gently used children’s books to Harmony House Child Advocacy Center and Sexual Assault Center.
People began lining up on Wednesday hoping to be the one of the first 100 through the door when Chick-Fil-A grand opened at 6 a.m. Thursday. Those lucky first hundred customers won a digital offer card loaded with a 52 free Chick-fil-A meals.
The new restaurant is located at 20 Owens Drive, just seven miles from the South Carolina border.
