Greenville County Deputies say one person is dead and another is recovering after an early morning shooting on Sunday.

Per deputies, the call of shots fired came in at approximately 2:45 a.m. from the area of Lanford Road and Paper Mill Road.

Upon arrival, deputies were advised that two 25-30 year old males were admitted to the hospital with at least one gun shot wound each. One of the victims is still being treated and is expected to recover, they said.

The Greenville County Coroner said the other victim had life-threatening wounds and was pronounced dead on scene. He was identified as 31-year-old Lamarckus Terrell Boswell. His manner of death was ruled a homicide.

"They took a real person, they took God's angel," Hope Johnson, family, said.

"The personality, it's just ones that you never forget about. When he comes in the room you know that it's Boz is in the room. Every single time," Nathan Pepper, friend and Greenville High School teammate said.

After an autopsy, the coroner confirmed Boswell suffered gunshot wounds to the chest.

Greenville County Schools confirmed Monday that Boswell was a student at Greenville High School through 2006 and was a member of both the football and basketball teams.

Investigators have no credible leads at this time. Anyone with information pertaining to the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
