HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina)- The North Carolina Department of Transportation announced that a section of I-26 East will be closed for the next three nights due to construction. 

Officials said the section from Airport Road (Exit 40) to U.S. 25 Business (Exit 44). During this time, crews will set the beams for a new bridge on I-26 over Cane Creek. 

Starting at around 8:00 p.m. each night, drivers will be detoured to Airport Road (N.C. 280 East) and Hendersonville Road (U.S. 25 South) before getting back onto I-26. 

According to officials, the traffic lights at these intersections will stay green longer during this period to help the flow of traffic. 

The closed section of I-26 should reopen by 6:00 a.m. every morning during this process.
