The construction of a new $37 million manufacturing facility in Anderson County was announced Tuesday.

Construction began recently on a new facility for Arthrex Inc., an orthopedic medical device company based in Florida.

The project is set to include a 250,000 square-foot manufacturing building, a 30,000 square-foot office building and a 936-space parking lot. It is expected to be completed by general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie, and architect LAI Design Group in early 2019.

Arthrex said the facility is expected to create more than 1,000 new jobs in Anderson County over the next several years.

For open positions, interested applicants can visit the Arthrex Careers website. The majority of open positions are expected to be posted in the fall and winter.
