NewSpring's Greenville campus announces merger with another Upstate church

NewSpring leadership meeting (July 21, 2017/FOX Carolina)

NewSpring church announced on Wednesday morning that its Greenville location has a new, "permanent church home."

Members of NewSpring Greenville pack into the TD Convention Center every Sunday but for years, church leaders have been praying for a permanent location of their own.

The church said nearby, Eastlan Baptist Church on South Pleasantburg Drive has also been looking to make a change.

As a result, NewSpring said it is bringing Eastlan into the fold. NewSpring announced it is taking ownership of Eastlan's assets and liabilities, with plans to renovate the church's 11-acre campus.

The newly-joined churches will be called "NewSpring Eastlan" or the Eastlan campus of NewSpring.

No timeline for construction has been announced yet.

The church also said they believe a campus in Greer is next in NewSpring's future.
