The winter storm dumping snow on the northeast led airlines to cancel some flights that were scheduled to land at the Greenville Spartanburg International Airport and the Asheville Regional Airport on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning from eastern Pennsylvania to most of New England into Thursday morning. Some areas are expected to get more than a foot of snow.

Flights arriving from Philadelphia and Newark at GSP were canceled Wednesday. The flights expected to return to those cities from GSP have also been canceled.

Flights from and to Newark at the Asheville Regional Airport were also canceled on Wednesday.

Officials recommend checking your flight status online before heading to the airport.
