Chandler Creek Elementary. (FOX Carolina/May 9, 2018).

A school district says over 200 students were absent from Chandler Creek Elementary on Wednesday due to illness.

Beth Brotherton with Greenville County Schools said 20 percent of the school is now infected. Students are experiencing sudden, onset vomiting, but no fever.

According to Brotherton, the illness is mostly impacting students in kindergarten through second grade.

Cleaning crews have been sent out to the school.

Around 200 students were also absent on Thursday, she said.

Brotherton is encouraging parents to keep their children home if they show signs of being sick.
