Pickens County School Board forgives 2 recent snow days

The board for the School District of Pickens County has voted to forgive two snow days last week.

The district was closed Jan. 17 and 18 as snow moved through the Upstate and left behind icy roads. These were the fourth and fifth days the district missed this year due to inclement weather.

The three prior days will be made up in March and April.

The School District of Pickens County closed on January 17 and 18, which were the fourth and fifth days the district missed this year. SDPC will be making up the first three inclement weather days—September 11, September 12, and January 8—on March 16, March 30, and April 30.

By state law, local school boards may forgive the fourth, fifth, and sixth days missed so that students do not have to attend another make-up day.Copyright 2018 FOX Carolina (Meredith Corporation). All rights reserved.
