Thousands of Duke Energy customers without power in WNC

Thousands of Duke Energy customers in Greenville County were without power early Monday morning.

The utility company reported an outage in the area of West Lee Road and Wade Hampton Boulevard affecting more than 2,900 people.

The outage was first reported just before 6 a.m. By 7:25 a.m., power had been restored to the area.

The cause of the outage has not yet been confirmed.
