UNION COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) Union County Sheriff David Taylor says his bloodhound team was able to catch a suspect who led deputies on a brief chase through the county Tuesday afternoon.

According to the sheriff's office, the suspect, later identified as Matthew Parham, came through an intersection on a motorcycle almost striking a vehicle that had been pulled over. Sheriff Taylor ordered the driver to stop, but says he continued on sparking a chase.

Sheriff Taylor says he pursued the motorcycle on Highway 49 then onto Blackstock Road where he said Parham then turned into the woods. We're told the driver lost control of the bike, crashing, and fled on foot.

K-9 units were called in to track Parham who was located and placed under arrest sometime after 3:30 p.m.

He was booked into the Union County Jail.
