Tenth Circuit Solicitor David Wagner announced the sentencing of a Seneca woman in connection with the death of her husband.
The solicitor's office said Taylor Louise Bright pleaded guilty to reckless homicide and unlawful neglect of a child.
Bright was sentenced to ten years in prison for reckless homicide. The judge also imposed a consecutive sentence of ten years suspended on the service of two years and 5 years probation for unlawful neglect of a child.
On January 18, Bright hit her husband with a Dodge Ram 3500 pick-up truck following a domestic dispute. Bright dragged him 1600 under the truck through the streets of Seneca.
The Oconee County Coroner ruled his cause of death as chest and abdominal trauma.
Their four-year-old child was in the truck during the incident.
Toxicology reports found that Bright, who was pregnant at the time, was legally intoxicated.
Solicitor Wagner released a statement following Bright's plea: “I applaud the outstanding work of the Seneca Police Department that helped secure a guilty plea in this case. This case is a senseless tragedy that has forever impacted the lives of two families. Taylor Bright’s toxic combination of anger, alcohol and motor vehicles has left two children to grow up without either parent.”PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Police: Wife charged after dragging man to death down several streets with pickup truck
