Deputies with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office said a 28-year-old man is in custody in Florida after his mother was found dead in a Hendersonville home on Sunday.

Around 11:36 a.m., deputies found the female victim inside a home on North Harper Drive. The victim was identified as Peggy Kelly, 52. Pending an autopsy, the cause of death has not yet been determined.

Deputies said they have identified Kelly's son, Brendan James Allen, as a person of interest in the investigation.

Deputies said Allen was located in Florida on Monday afternoon and taken into custody. They said he is being held by the North Miami Beach Police Department on the charge of possession of a stolen vehicle that was taken from the victim's home .

According to the 911 call released by deputies, Kelly's daughter arrived home to find her mother covered in blood.

"I just came home and my mom's, I don't know, there's blood everywhere, I don't know what to do," the caller tells dispatchers. When asked if she knew what happened, the caller said her mom wasn't answering her phone and she just walked in to find her mother collapsed on the couch. The caller went on to say her brother had been living at the home for a few months, but was missing along with the car. She said her brother was not familiar with the area as he was from Cincinnati.

Deputies said an autopsy was completed , but the official report determining the time and cause of death has not been received.

Anyone with information concerning the investigation is asked to call the Henderson County Sheriff's Office at 828-697-4911 or 828-694-2796.
