A Spartanburg police officer helping look for a missing man not only found the man but bought him a meal with his own money on Saturday.

Police said Officer Renneker was searching for the man reported missing on Oct. 3 and family was concerned because of his medical issues.

The man's family asked for officers to search near the Downtown Rescue Mission when Renneker found him under the iron bridge on North Forest Street.

The victim told Renneker he had been living under the bridge for three days and had not eaten, so he bought the missing man a meal and reunited him with his family.

Police said the man was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center to be checked out.
