Spartanburg schools collecting crayons for childrens hospitals

Crayons (Feb. 20, 2018/FOX Carolina)

Do you have broken or unwanted crayons lying around? Spartanburg District 1 schools are collecting them to help sick children.

The district is participating in the "Crayon Initiative" and will be collected broken, used or unwanted crayons to be melted down and re-purposed for distribution to childrens hospitals across the country.

A portion of the crayons donated will go to the Greenville Childrens Hospital.
