FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - LT Tolbert hit a grand slam to help South Carolina keep its season alive with an 8-5 win over national No. 5 seed Arkansas in the second game of their NCAA super regional on Sunday.
Tolbert's home run highlighted a five-run fifth inning for the Gamecocks (37-25), who will face the Razorbacks in a deciding third game on Monday - with the winner advancing to next week's College World Series.
Justin Row and Hunter Taylor each added home runs for South Carolina, and Carlos Cortes had three hits in the win. Cody Morris (9-3) earned the win after allowing only one unearned run in five innings.
Arkansas (43-19) opened the super regional with a 9-3 win but never led on Sunday. Kacey Murphy (8-5) allowed four runs in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss, and Heston Kjerstad and Carson Shaddy had home runs for the Razorbacks.Copyright 2018 The Associated Press.
