Spartanburg’s iconic Beacon Drive-In is getting ready for a close-up!

The famous eatery will soon be featured on a Travel Channel program, according to owner Steve Duncan.

Duncan said production crews from the show Food Paradise will be coming out on May 14 to film a segment about the restaurant.

Duncan is asking for the community’s help to fill the restaurant for its time under the TV lights. He said the TV crew is planning to film and interview customers from 5 to 7 p.m.

Duncan said the producers asked him not to reveal too many details about the show at this time.

“They are going to feature a certain recipe that the Beacon is known for, but we can’t say what it is right now,” he said.

The restaurant’s staff and regular customers are excited about the opportunity to once again share the Beacon’s legacy with the rest of the country.

“The Beacon has dome deep roots in the community and we’re honored just to be considered for the show,” Duncan said

The Beacon was featured previously on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives during the show’s initial season.
