The Gaffney Fire Department says a collision with entrapment has shut down the roadway on Garvin Lake Road at Union Highway in Gaffney Sunday afternoon.

Per the SC Highway Patrol Real-Time Traffic Information system, the collision was first reported at 12:40 p.m. along Union Highway, near Berry Memorial Church.

The Cherokee County Coroner and three medical helicopters were requested.

Six people total were involved in the wreck, including three children ages 9, 2 and an infant.

Fire crews say the roadway will be shut down for some time. Officials say to avoid the area.

The Corinth and Goucher Fire Departments are also on scene.

Troopers said a 2007 Saturn was traveling south on Union Highway when it crossed the center line and hit a 2016 Honda Civic head on.

The driver of the Saturn was 27-year-old Tiffaney Wallace Jordan from Gaffney. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A 9-year-old and 2-year-old were injured and transported to Mary Black Hospital and Greenville Hospital by EMS and helicopter.

The coroner said Jordan is Cherokee County's 8th traffic-related death of the year, and 2nd in less than 24 hours.

Four passengers in the Honda, including a 3-year-old and 1-year-old, were injured and transported to Mary Black, Greenville and Spartanburg Regional Hospitals with injuries, as well.

No charges have been filed in the crash at this time.
