Troopers: Man dead after 3 wheeler crashed into tree in Laurens County

Traffic officials said a backup on I-85 south on Tuesday was due to multiple collisions.

South Carolina Highway Patrol said the first crash was reported around 11:40 a.m. near the 32 mile marker in Anderson County.

Just before 3 p.m., troopers confirmed the roadway was back open. According to Highway Patrol, 12 vehicles were involved in 5 different collisions in the area.

Four people were injured in the crashes.
