The North Carolina Highway Patrol said two guards were injured after a Garda Protective armored money transport truck overturned in Haywood County.

Troopers said the collision occurred at exit 104 on Highway 19 in Waynesville on Wednesday morning.

The truck was speeding when it lost control, ran off the road, struck a guardrail and flipped over, troopers said.

According to troopers, three of the four tires on the truck were deemed unsafe. North Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver was charged with exceeding speed for conditions and operating a vehicle on unsafe tires.

Both guards were injured and transported to Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Troopers said the truck was the only vehicle involved in the collision.
