(Meredith) -- Two days before President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration, First Lady Melania Trump addressed the public in a farewell speech.

In her speech posted Monday, Melania Trump said it was the "greatest honor of my life to serve as First Lady of the United States."

The First Lady put heavy emphasis on thanking the members of the US military. She also emphasized how moved she has been by everyday Americans who have fought and overcome personal battles.

Addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, the First Lady thanked all healthcare workers and frontline workers for their relentless efforts in fighting the pandemic. She also asked Americans to continue using "caution and common sense" even as "millions of vaccines are being delivered."

She also thanked teachers for working "twice as hard to keep our children learning."

In the aftermath of the riot at the US Capitol, the First Lady reminded Americans that "violence is never the answer and will never be justified."

She also touched on her "Be Best" campaign which she has been working on for the past four years.

The First Lady did not make any statements about the election or the transition to the Biden administration.
