Futurecast Wed PM

Hotter, slightly drier weather settles in by Thursday and Friday with major heat lingering through the weekend.

Today brings another round of scattered storms this afternoon as highs reach the 80s. Slow-moving storms will bring plenty of heavy rain, and there's a small risk of damaging wind with the strongest storms. Most of this activity will weaken around sunset.

Rain will become more isolated Thursday and Friday with highs returning to the 90s in the Upstate thanks to more sunshine.

Independence Day weekend will be hot and muggy with spotty late day storms both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 90s. Early next week, temperatures will hold in the 80s with a few more storms to dodge.
